Air vs. Sea Freight: How to Choose the Right Method for Your Shipment
By Super Admin · 18 May 2026 · 1 min read
One of the most common questions we get from new customers is whether to ship by air or by sea. The honest answer is: it depends on three factors — timeline, cargo value, and volume.
Air freight typically moves in 1-5 days door to door, making it the clear choice for time-critical goods, high-value electronics, or perishables with a short shelf life. The tradeoff is cost per kilogram, which can be several times higher than ocean freight.
Sea freight is the most economical option for large volumes and non-urgent cargo, with transit times typically ranging from 20-45 days depending on the route. For businesses shipping regular, predictable volumes, ocean freight often makes the most financial sense.
Many of our customers use a hybrid approach — air freight for urgent replenishment stock, sea freight for bulk inventory — and our door-to-door service can manage both legs under one point of contact.
